Racism

Racism has been used for centuries to point out the difference of people from other races. The differences are nearly always negative and can emotionally harm the person. Many discriminative statements involve the persons skin colour, speech or their background. Even small things like what they wear or what they dislike or like can separate them from those around them. This can be very difficult to deal with for the person that is being abused. It can cause depression, anxiety and can make their view of other people worse. Some of the worse cases of racism can lead to being seriously injured or even dead.

People can be racist towards each other for many reasons. Whether it be from being brought up in a racist family or from personal experiences with people from other races, racists can be ruthless in calling out their differences.

If a person has been brought up in a racist family they learn to be disrespectful of other people from different countries. A kid as young as 5 years of age can tell the difference between skin colours and make derogatory comments. The younger the person the more influence can be put on them. They can then find themselves in trouble in later years for being racist.

Another reason for racism is personal experiences. This can be from war or being bullied at a young age. It leaves a bad impression on the person, especially if they do not personally know the enemy. The victim can think that all people of the same race treat other people badly and so they retaliate in kind.
